Passcode settings in Day One iOS (2.0) provide the following options: Touch ID: Enables unlocking your journal with your fingerprint. Prompt for Touch ID on Startup: Disabling this allows you to create an entry without unlocking Day One. Tapping the fingerprint icon on the unlock screen displays the Touch ID prompt for easy unlocking.
