Looking to add entries to the past or future?
Day One journal entries can be back-dated many decades, and can also be post-dated many decades. For the first entry that you make for any year, use the following steps for iOS and Mac:
- Open Day One Mac.
- Create a new entry.
- Click the date/time icon.
- Change the date and time.
- Write your entry.
Once you have done the above, the year of that entry will then appear in the Calendar View. You can created additional entries within the Calendar View. (The only years that appear in the calendar are those for which you have already created one or more entries.) Navigate to the year, month and day for which you want to add an entry. Tap or click the date, and you’ll see an option to create a new entry on that date.
By default, the time for a back-dated or post-dated entry is set to 12:00 noon. You can modify that in the date editor.
