The icon in the menu bar shows or hides the Menu Bar Quick Entry. This tool is useful for quickly adding entries without opening the main window of Day One, particularly when used in tandem with periodic reminders during the day.
When you have the main Day One journal open, the quick entry icon will appear in the menu bar until you quit the main Day One journal. To use the Menu Bar Quick Entry when Day One is not open, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > General.
- Click the check box below “Show Menu Bar Entry.”
Alternatively, you can also:
- Go to Settings > Reminders.
- Click the check box next to “Enable Reminders.”
To remove the menu bar when Day One is closed, simply uncheck the options above. Please note that doing this will also disable Reminders.
