Deleting an entry and deleting media in Day One

How to delete entries or delete media in entries for Day One.

macOS

To delete an entry in the Mac app:

 Right-click (Control+click) on the entry in the timeline, and select “Trash” in the context menu.

With the entry open in Read view, tap the More icon (•••), then select “Trash” in the context menu.

To delete media in an entry:

  1. Open the entry.
  2. Right-click or Control+click on the media
  3. Choose Delete

 

iOS

To delete an entry in the iOS app: 

  • In the Timeline view, swipe on an entry.
  • Tap Trash and confirm

OR

  • While viewing an individual entry
  • Tap the More button (•••) at the top right
  • Tap Move to Trash

OR

To delete a photo in the iOS app:

  1. Tap the media to view full screen
  2. Tap the trash icon
  3. Confirm

OR

  • Open the Entry Info/Metadata view
  • Scroll to the media items
  • Select media to delete
  • Tap Delete

Android

To delete an entry

  • In the Timeline view, tap and hold on an entry.
  • Tap delete and confirm

OR

  • While viewing an individual entry
  • Tap the More button (•••) at the top right
  • Tap Delete Entry

OR

  • Open the Metadata view
  • Scroll to the bottom and select “Delete Entry”

To delete a photo in the Android app:

 

  1. Tap the media to view full screen
  2. Tap More icon (•••) at the top right
  3. Tap Delete
  4. Confirm
