Editing in Day One on Mac is easy. Simply click anywhere in the entry to place a cursor and begin editing. Many of our previously supported Markdown commands are still functional in this new editor and it converts automatically to rich text.
There are not separate views for Edit and Read mode. Click anywhere in an entry to place the cursor.
When you are done editing, you can press Command+Enter to exit edit mode or click to a different entry.
Click the Aa icon to open text formatting options
Click the paper clip icon for attachments and other options.
Right-click (or Control+click) on text in the entry for additional options like adding a Link:
Version 2.9.2 and earlier
Highlight any text to bring up the formatting options. Or you can type Markdown options. Markdown will convert automatically as you type in the editor.
The options at the bottom of your entry allow you to do the following:
- Choose the journal
- Add tags
- Add location
- Add activity
- Change the date and time
- Favorite the entry
- Add photos
